Join us for the second installment of the Stories at the Station author series, with award-winning young adult author Dr. Nina Hamza as she shares with us her newest book, Samira’s Worst (Best) Summer Ever, which has been nominated for the Minnesota Book Award!
About the Book: A young adult novel about finding your people and living authentically even when life is confusing and difficult, Samira’s Worst (Best) Summer Ever is a triumph by award-winning author Nina Hamza of Ahmed Aziz’s Epic Year fame. From the dust jacket:
“For Samira, middle school has been a crusher of friendships. She and Kiera have been BFFs since they were little, but now Kiera just hangs out with the cool kids. With Sammy’s parents and older sister headed to India, Sammy is excited to have two weeks of summer with her grandmother, and she’s even willing to tolerate her younger brother, Imran.
When Samira’s house gets TPed, she’s pretty sure she knows who did it. With the help of her new neighbor Alice, Sammy finds herself tracking down clues between garage band practices, blanket-fort building, and neighborhood dinner parties. Before the summer is over, Samira knows she must do two things: prove beyond a doubt who TPed her house, and figure out once and for all who her real friends are.”
